The Cross Reference function in DxDesigner is a little messy.  There is no facility available to determine where the text will be located or how it will be formatted. The placement of the XREF properties appears to be random.

Most companies would like their schematics to be more tidy than is possible with this function in its current implementation.  Another case where a small automation process can help.

Here’s an example of how the tool works:

Interconnect symbols come without any XREF properties attached:

After running the Tools > Cross Reference function (built into DxDesigner) the XREF properties are added but are poorly placed:

The Cleanup XREFs tool places them appropriately for each interconnect symbol and formats the text:

The information is the same but is much more useful when correctly formatted.
